Unfortunate Prestige

An Odd thing happened while I was playing Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3. My “clan tag” had changed to an obscene word, which leads me to believe someone had hacked my Playstation network account (or my router?). But most annoyingly most of my weapon attachments and perks had disappeared. This would appear to rule out the router theory, since I don’t think there’s a way to reset all of them, while leaving Akimbo still selectable. Prestige mode hadn’t been used.  If you’re not aware of what these are, I will explain. When you first start playing MW2 online  , you can only use a set few weapons. As you make a certain number kills with any weapon (or using a particular attachment) you’re rewarded with a new attachment. This might be a thermal sensing screen, which enables you to see the position of close by enemy players. These upgrades can be a great advantage and it very fun unlocking them.

Much to my horror then when I discovered that nearly all of mine had DISSAPEARED! Only a select few remained such as “Akimbo” which allows you to hold certain guns in each hand. I do love playing with this one! I’m not shamed (well maybe a little bit) to say that it took me days to amass all these gun grades. Since I’m a level 70, you’ve given the option to reset all the upgrades in exchange for a shiny emblem near your name. This wasn’t very appealing before, but now that I don’t have the attachments anyway, I have decided to take on this last challenge available in the game. Needless to say, no attachments is more difficult than I remember. There is no sniping people from yards away in the misty rain, when others have no knowledge of your whereabouts! Hacked in Call of Duty. Who whadda thought? Maybe I should send the game makers a message or post about it on a call of duty message board… I definitely would not like this to again once happen I gain all the upgrades once more. That would really be a kick the teeth, and I’d probably just turn to a new game altogther – Black Ops. Heh.
